Chief Engineer

A chief engineer is a professional who oversees all aspects of the engineering projects in a company or organization. Chief Engineer Duties & Responsibilities
Some of the common duties and responsibilities of a chief engineer are:

Chief Engineer Qualifications
To become a chief engineer, you may need the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the relevant engineering field (master’s degree or PhD preferable)
  • A professional engineer (PE) license or certification for operating certain types of equipment or systems
  • At least 4 years of experience leading or supervising a team of engineers
  • A sound understanding of engineering principles and practices
